4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, we must have a legal basis to process your personal data. We rely on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a Contract: Processing is necessary to provide our Service to you (for barbers) or to facilitate the booking you request (for customers).
  • Legitimate Interests: We may use your information for our legitimate interests, such as improving our Service, fraud prevention, and network security, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.

  • For Security: To protect our company and our users by detecting and preventing fraud, spam, or abuse.

6. International Data Transfers

As we expand into Spain and may use third-party service providers (e.g., cloud hosting) located outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure that any transfer of your personal data outside the EEA is subject to appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect your data.

7. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. However, we may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction.

We may disclose personal information that we collect or you provide as described in this privacy policy in the following circumstances:

  • To the Barber (for Customer Data): If you are a customer booking an appointment, the information you provide (Name, Email, Phone Number) is shared directly with the barber you are booking with. This is the core function of the Service. How the barber uses that information beyond the booking is governed by their own privacy policy.
  • To Service Providers: We may contract with third-party companies to assist us in operating our business and the Service (e.g., cloud hosting providers like AWS or Digital Ocean, email delivery services, payment processors). These third parties have access to your personal information only to perform specific tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
  • For Legal Purposes: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).
  • Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your personal information may be transferred. We will provide notice before your personal information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

8. Data Security

We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on secure servers behind firewalls.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Service. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk.

9. Data Retention

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If a barber closes their account, we will delete their personally identifiable information within a reasonable timeframe, subject to our need to retain certain information for legal record-keeping, billing, or fraud prevention.

Customer booking data (name, email, phone) is retained as long as the barber's account is active, as it is necessary for the barber to view their booking history. Once the data is no longer needed for the barber's operations, we may anonymize or delete it.

If you are located in the European Union (Netherlands or Spain), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
